APOCALYPTICA To Release New Single In Three Languages
February 10, 2005Finnish cello-rockers APOCALYPTICA will release a new single, "Wie Weit", on February 14 containing three different versions of their track "Quutamo": The French version featuring Manu of DOLLY, plus the English and German versions featuring Marta Jandová of Germany's alternative-hipsters DIE HAPPY. An online preview is available at this location.
In other news, APOCALYPTICA and Marta will take part in the German Bundesvision music contest on February 12 representing Baden Württemberg with their rendition of "Wie Weit".
As previously reported, APOCALYPTICA entered the German and Finnish album charts at position No. 5 with their latest CD, "Apocalyptica".
SLAYER drummer Dave Lombardo guested on "Apocalyptica" on a song called "Betrayal/Forgiveness". The track, which is described by APOCALYPTICA's Perttu Kivilaakso as a "really fast, thrash metal-influenced song," marks the second time Lombardo has played on an APOCALYPTICA CD, having previously performed on 2003's "Reflections".
APOCALYPTICA are currently supporting German industrial metallers RAMMSTEIN on a European tour. Photos from the Feb. 4 gig at the Brixton Academy in London can be found at the Bira Darkzine: Apocalyptica, Rammstein. The group's first-ever North American tour will kick off March 15 in New York City. A complete listing of the currently confirmed tour dates can be found at this location.
